The founder and inspirer of Farah Khan jewelry brand is Farah Khan-Ali. More than 20 years ago, she founded the company to develop and produce jewelry made of gold, silver, precious stones. The history of the brand originates in Mumbai, where the head office is still located.
Farah had no plans to become a jewellery designer. Together with her friend she went to the Gemological Institute of America. The studies were easy, the girl discovered her talent for jewelry design. Having studied hundreds of kinds of minerals, she could rightfully call herself an expert in processing precious stones.
The first collection showed the uniqueness and exclusivity of Farah’s approach to production of jewelry. The bright Indian flavor, oriental rich colors, precious stones in interesting facets, the finest details of handmade – all this brought fame to the brand not only in India but around the world.
Farah Khan’s special jewelry
All the production is focused on a special, bright and daring woman. The brand’s philosophy is that every necklace or earrings, ring or bracelet should shade the natural attractiveness of a beautiful lady and not overshadow it. Jewelry by Farah Khan label is especially in demand among European women. They are attracted by ethnic Indian patterns, spicy oriental note in the jewelry, unique gold and stone carving techniques, widely used by the masters of the company.
In each of the collections there are always exclusive single models. Basic models, which are found in a slightly upgraded form in each collection, are also produced. Khan’s decorations are intricate and tell a story. The designer’s favorite stone is emerald. It is used in almost every collection in combination with white and yellow gold, scatterings of small diamonds.
The latest collection by Le Jardin Exotique is very revealing. Articles of gold and dazzling jewels, which have been selected over the past few years, form its basis. For almost eight months the unique bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces, soutoirs and kaffes have been created first on paper and then in metal and stone. Each item in this collection is handmade by the finest masters of Indian jewelry art.
The name of the collection is translated as “exotic garden”. Peacocks, swans, parrots, plants of unprecedented beauty, blooming lianas – more than enough exoticism in this series. The color combination of stones surprises as well: pink and green, crimson and blue.
Last years’ collections are no less expressive. Just look at rings with big stones: mother-of-pearl, emerald? A unique ring with a “secret” strikes the imagination with its elegance: a big black stone is opened and reveals a little figure of a man made of gold. Young girls will certainly like cute earrings in the form of hearts or flowers in gold generously sprinkled with small diamonds. Lovers of oriental flair may please themselves with a necklace in the form of a fire-breathing dragon or a pendant of a huge emerald on an intricately woven chain.
