The Hermès story began in 1837 in Paris, the fashion capital. Thierry Hermès opened his small workshop and they produced not earrings and rings but horse harness. The clients of the master were only European nobility, as he used only high quality materials in his work, respected the technology of production and respected traditions.
In 1855, the organizers of the Expositions Universelles in Paris recognized Thierry’s talent: he won one of the prizes in his class. Twelve years later, at the same exhibition, he was awarded a medal for first place. The father was succeeded by his two sons, Emile-Maurice and Adolphe. They greatly expanded production: in the 20s of the 19th century begins the production of accessories. In 1922 the first collection of handbags under the Hermès name appeared. From 1929 to 1938 the assortment of goods was replenished with scarves, clothes, bracelets and ties. Later the line of goods of the brand included jewelry.
The art of design
The new turn of popularity of Hermès brand falls on the beginning of collaboration with the famous designer Pierre Hardy. Since the last century only the most talented designers of the brand became designers, for which they even received the King of the French Suites award. But Hardy breathed life into the brand’s products, felt the time amazingly and reflected it not only in jewelry, but also in all Hermès goods.
