Lalique, a manufacturer of jewelry and art objects, has launched a collection dedicated to the famous French actress Sarah Bernhardt.
Sarah Bernhardt’s dizzying career, first at the theater and then in silent movies, made her perhaps the first superstar of the 20th century. And one of the Lalique collections named Adrienne puts Bernard on the same level with the greatest actress of the XVIII century Adrienne Lecouvreur. The collection features feminine and at the same time very effective jewelry like earrings, pendants, rings. All articles are made of white and yellow gold and are decorated with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires.
A series dedicated to Sarah Bernhardt totals 5 collections: Scarabee, Vesta, Perroquet, Adrienne and Lys. The beautiful and exotic names of the collections (for example, “perroquet” translates from French as “parrot”, and “lys” means “lily”) perfectly captures the graceful lightness of gold and precious stones, which will surely attract many jewelry lovers.
The collections were presented at the Paris National Opera. The pieces from the Fall/Winter 2015 series will be available in a number of stores around the world, including the Lalique flagship store in Paris. Prices range from $4,800 to $20,900.
