Okay, Rado’s signature ceramic is still present in the updated DiaMaster watch. It is made of it – innovative high-tech and plasma – which, surrounded by diamonds, enamel or mother-of-pearl and leather in noble hues, cleverly masquerades as steel and gold, more familiar to us in this genre. The radiant dia- in the name DiaMaster is a tribute to the original Diastar term that Rado chose way back in 1962 to commemorate the invention of the first material that was the forerunner of modern ceramic watchmaking. Closeness to the word diamond, which in English stands for both diamond and diamond, hinted at the scratch-resistance of the material. Today Rado’s scientific and technological breakthroughs promise lightness and hypoallergenic properties. Diamonds are a nice bonus!
