An exclusive watch Blue Dragon Imperial in gold and diamonds will bring happiness to its owner.
In Chinese culture, the dragon traditionally serves as a symbol of imperial power, happiness, tranquility, protection and destiny. Adding their craftsmanship to Chinese mythology, the German watchmakers at Grieb & Benzinger fulfilled the request of a Chinese wristwatch collector by producing a special version of The Blue Dragon Imperial. A collector born in the year of the dragon avidly collects all things related to this mythical creature.
According to Chinese belief, the watch was delivered to the customer after eight months of waiting on August 8, 2014 (that is, 08.08.2014), and since the number 8 is a lucky number in Chinese tradition, this project can be considered triple lucky.
The Blue Dragon Imperial features Grieb & Benzinger’s own hand-wound, hand-assembled and skeletonized movement, also embellished with guilloché and hand-engraving. The luxurious timepiece is reliably protected by a solid case of 18-carat white gold and palladium, the rim of which is set with 66 princess-cut diamonds. The German watchmaker also paid homage to its Swiss roots by incorporating blued platinum details – blue screws, crown and ratchet wheel – next to gold-plated hour and minute hands.
Want to get lucky with this watch? Grieb & Benzinger will make the Blue Dragon Imperial for you, too, for the modest fee of 82,000 euros ($109,790).
